Rock Stars!

Last night while at the Havel home we had the chance to play Rock Band. It was so fun and funny! All the kids got involved at some point but my favorite part was having Mason sing! He sang Roxanne by the Police. He is for sure asking for Rock Band for Christmas now. Who knows, maybe someday he will be a Rock Star! (first he will have to learn the melody but who is worried about that now?) Thanks Havels for a fun evening! (I tried to upload the video of Mason singing but it took to long so I had to cancel, maybe another time you can all hear him sing for you)

Kindsbach park and lake

Yesterday we went to Kindsbach park and lake. The kids had such a good time playing with friends and then later swimming in the lake, well Mason was the only one to really get in the water. Trevan was to afraid of the fish. He thought they would suck on his toes! He did get his feet in but that was about it, same for Kennedy. The water was pretty cold to boot. Brother Flanders was there too helping the kids all catch fish in baggies to take home. However, we moms know better and convinced our kids to release these poor fish back into their homes with their families. It did take quite a bit of talking to get Trevan to do this but he did do it. He does think that we will be going back and catching the same fish again so he can say hi though. It was a good day of activity for the kids and good talking sessions for me and the other moms there.

Sneeky Girl

The other day I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast for the kids, don't get to excited they were just the pop and fresh pillsbury kind! Anyway, Kennedy had eaten most of hers and was finished but the boys each were on their second ones before they left the table. Well Mason hadn't quite finished his and asked that I didn't throw it away, he was in fact planning on finishing it later. Next thing I know Kennedy is sitting at Mason's plate sneeking his cinnamon roll! She was quietly humming a song as she was trying to get some on her fork when I caught her. What a funny girl.

Zeist

Last week we finally made the trip to Zeist NL. This is George's birth place. We left early in the morning and hoped we would not get stuck in much traffic. Unfortunately we did and our trip up took us 5 hours! We got stuck in a Stau, or as Americans call them traffic jam for over an hour in one place! The kids did very well though. The slept for a while and then watched movies so they were entertained. When we got to Zeist we set out to look for something for the kids to do to stretch their legs. We found a trail and walked it for a few minutes, finding out as we ventured it was a retirement community! Oh well, the kids enjoyed the ducks and the pond. We then went and found the hospital where George was born. That was fun for him, he was so excited to see this place, not really much to see as a tourist but fun for him, and I guess for the rest of us too. His parents said they lived downtown there across from a big store so we drive downtown and I am sure it has changed so much since they were there. It was fun anyways. What is so amazing to us is all the bikes. They have parking garages for bikes! And the type of bikes they ride are not for looks so you know you would never see an American kid riding one of them. They are for comfort and long rides. We drove on and found a park for the kids to play at for awhile before we headed home. The drive home didn't take near as long as the drive up, but isn't that usually the case? It was a good day trip and exciting for George to see his "roots"!

LegoLand

This past month we went to LegoLand with the Havel family. The boys were so excited, they have been looking forward to this for months. We were supposed to go over spring break when both husbands were deployed but the weather did not cooperate. This time around we were able to stay in the new theme cottages. We were given the Adventure cottage, which the kids were sure it was Indiana Jones. They had little theme playgrounds with every different themed cottage. The day we got there it was cloudy and chilly but by late afternoon, actually after dinner the sun came out and kids were able to swim in the little pond they have. They enjoyed playing in there and pretending to be stuck in quick sand. The next day was on to Lego Land and sure enough we had beautiful weather. We all had such a good time and got good tans/sunburns (me). Still today, a few weeks later the kids all like looking at the map we got from Lego land and talking about their favorite rides. Mason's favorite was a roller-coaster similar to the wild mouse at Lagoon and a swinging boat ride. Trevan's favorite ride changes every time you ask him, but I think he seems to mention the Log Flume the most. Kennedy loved the pirate boat and was just so excited to ride rides! It was a very fun and enjoyable time. We were so glad the Havel family shared in this with us.

Kennedy

Kennedy is 2 1/2 years old. She loves babies and beautiful dresses. She is already picking out her own clothes and changing them at least 3 times a day! She enjoys getting her hair done and picking out a pretty to go in her hair. She is almost at the stage where she thinks she knows how she wants to wear her hair! I beg to differ with her on that one. I will give in on the dresses every day but not the hair style, she is only 2! She loves playing with her big brothers and copying what they say. Sunday is her favorite day of the week, I think only because she gets to wear her fruffy dresses and go to nursery. She has learned her colors and likes to point to everything and name what color it is. She is working on her ABC's and can name a few on site. Her favorite color is definitely pink and she likes pizza and spaghetti. We say she is the best thing that has come from living in Germany!

Mason

Mason is our 7 year old who loves to eat cold cereal. If he is asked what he wants for dinner he will reply cereal! Even if he has the option of eating out. He loves Math and Science and wants to grow up to be a game programer for the XBox 360. We all know by then they will have new and better systems but this is his dream. He likes riding his scooter and learning to ride a bike. He also wants you all to know his favorite color is blue. He is very much like his Uncle Mike! Very smart and yet overly sensitive. We love him and all his many quirks.

Trevan-isms

Trevan is our fun little 4 1/2 year old, just don't let him hear you call him little! He is a witty one who likes to make "duh" comments, for instance we were talking about the movie/video game Spiderwick, those of you who know of this you know there is a book involved, I asked what was in the book, Trevan's reply "PAGES"! Another example, he wanted to watch a movie so George said to him "If you need help putting it on Mason can help you" Trevan's reply "I'm not two dad." I was putting on my makeup the other day and he came in and looked at me with my undereye conceler on and asked how I was going to paint my face, I said the same as always, he said "Oh I thought you were going to do something cool!" He has a way of making us laugh, wether at him or at ourselves. Trevan's favorite color is Orange and his favorite food is fruit oatmeal!
