Boy or Girl is no longer in question!

We had our ultrasound this morning. You know, the 20 week one. The one where you can find out the gender. There is also alot more that goes along with it but that is what most people care about, us being in that group. So a little update on baby, growing right on schedule, weighs 12 ounces, skinny legs, 4 visible working heart chambers, two working kidneys, brain in head (we were told that at age 16 it stops working properly!) cute little face, no cleft pallet, awesome looking spine, 2 hands, 10 fingers, 2 feet, 10 toes, 2 moving arms, 2 moving legs, 1 PENIS in between!

Now comes the fun part of choosing a name. We had previously picked out Braxten, but now George says he doesn't like it, just like how it was with the previous boys! I still like it, but probably won't get my way, boo hoo. So I asked him to choose from the following...Braxten, Jaxon, or Daxton. We shall see in 20 or less weeks! (I am having a love with the X in a name, don't know why!) If anyone has GOOD opinions about these names feel free to chime in, if not keep to yourself!

Sleep much?

Have you ever heard of the "Dog days of Winter"? I know there is the saying "dog days of summer" but summer is still 4 months away, or for us 5 months away! These pictures were taken a few weeks ago when Kennedy was a very sick little girl, notice the "barf bowl" on the couch. She wanted nothing to do with the bowl so she laid on the floor to sleep. Beauty and the Beast! Yes some days they are interchangeable. (Kennedy will always be a beauty in my eyes) Sage is having fewer and fewer beastly days, YEAH!

Very much my Sleeping Beauty! So sweet, and so girly, even on her sickest days she wants her hair done.

New Goal! and Sage the puppy.

I have been very lacking in the blogging area as of late. I can't believe it has been two months since I last posted anything. Which means I have missed Kennedy's b-day, mine, Christmas, New Years, and everything else in between. So today I have made a new goal for myself. I will post something everyday this month! Now I know today is the second day of this month so I will be posting twice. And yes I realize it is the shortest month of the year so that is extra incentive to see if I really will do it!

In December we got a puppy. This is our families first pet, and mine ever! Not knowing what to expect I went into this new adventure blindly. Needless to say I was totally stressed out by day 2. I ended up giving myself Laryngitis, which happens to me every time I really stress (usually when George deploys). This is Sage. Such a cute little puppy. The boys absolutely fell in love with her. They let her get away with anything and everything. She has ruined to many shirts of Mason's for me to even want to write the number down! She also put a hole in a pair of Trevan's pants, all because the boys think or I should say thought it was fun to let her chew on them. Now they don't feel the same since she has a lot more teeth.

Sage loves our rag rug. She would chew on it like it was grass. I did say would because she has since learned not to chew in the house!

Sage's favorite spot. She loves to curl herself up on the heater vent and sleep. Yes she is still doing this, just outside her kennel.

This is where Kennedy spent weeks! She would creep down the stairs, ask where Sage was and jump onto the couch and climb as high as she could get. She was not like the boys, it has taken her much longer to love Sage.

Kennedy is now loving Sage and at times can't keep her hands off of her. I too have since calmed down about having a dog and enjoying her.

Mason's Feast?

So this is from back in November, but I still think it is worth posting just a tad late! Mason's school class had a feast in where the kids all prepared the food. They were all assigned something to bring, like we brought in two rotisserie chickens, which were used for soup. Mason also taught the kids how to make taffy with a marshmallow and your fingers (messy!) I spent the morning in his classroom enjoying watching the kids have so much fun. They got to cut up the chicken, well I should say destroy the chicken! They were chopping vegetables, melting cheese for nachos, boiling eggs, making mini cheese cakes, and ants on a log. They were also responsible for cleaning up which they did a good job of. If you don't know Mason well, then you don't know that he was not, I repeat NOT excited about eating the food! He talked about this feast for weeks and was excited about making it but not about eating it.

Here is the layout of what was served. Chicken and wild rice soup, deviled eggs, nachos, and ants on a log. After a lot of coaxing I convinced him to try the log, just by taking off the raisins,(I wouldn't eat them either) the only other thing he ate were the chips, no cheese please! George was able to come for the lunch part and both he and I enjoyed the soup, very tasty!

Happy 6th Birthday Mr. T

Trevan is 6 years old today! Or in his words, today is his "real" birthday. This year he is getting to have a big party which is on Saturday so in his mind he gets two birthdays. When he woke up this morning I asked him if he felt older. He said no, not yet. I then told him that since he wasn't born until 5:02 pm maybe he wont feel it until then today. He then said, "Well, my legs are longer today than they were yesterday"! ha ha ha What a funny spirited boy he is. We are so happy he is in our family, his comic relief is much needed. (Mr. T is a nickname that Mason gave Trevan shortly after he was born. Mason could not pronounce Trevan, and the fact that Trevan sported a Mohawk during his first few months the nickname has stuck)

Babysitter for hire!

The other night after Kennedy had gotten ready for bed, she came downstairs and told us she had taken care of her baby. She said she had tied her up with a rope so she wouldn't walk around in her room while she was trying to sleep! Of course we had to go see what she had done. (If only my sister Hollie had thought of this many years ago, well I guess tying your younger siblings bedroom doors together so they can't get out of their rooms works too!)

So if anyone is interested in having their children tied to their bedroom doors please call and I will make sure Kennedy is available! NO??? I guess we can still give her 9-10 years to prepare for the actual babysitting jobs.

What we've been up to!

What have we been up to? Aside from the normal day to day activities of school and work? Well, it has been awhile since I last posted so here goes.

Our niece Magan got married! Which means an 8 hour road trip to Utah, by the way I enjoy every mile of it. At least it is close enough to drive!

Here she is with her dad Randy, getting ready to walk down the isle. Randy is not the tux wearin kind of guy, but he would have if Magan had wanted him to, she just wanted him to be himself and to be comfortable.
Magan and her now husband Jon during the ceremony. Bishop Wade Jacklin (my brother, Magan's uncle) performed the wedding. Wade did a very good job, he was longer winded than I thought he would be but way shorter than other ceremonies.

Magan's hair. Magan and her mom Hollie are complete opposite than I am, so when I was asked to do her hair for the day my OCD went into full swing! I totally obsessed over it for weeks, checked out many different options, and when I got to Utah, made Magan come over to play around with it. She was so like "I don't care, do what you want!" (like I said, not like me at all) Well after getting practically no sleep the night before, worrying about the time issue because she still had a lot to do the day of I decided to just put in my curl-former curlers and make her go around town with them in all day. She wanted it down and had a pretty little pearl headband for the front. Of course she also had a veil that we just hooked into the back. Simple but pretty hair that seemed to fit her perfectly. At least I think so.

Halloween also happened. Here are the pictures to prove it happened here at our house.

Mason was Luigi from Mario. When I was growing up, we had the original Nintendo game system, well the first time we played Mario my little brother Mike thought Luigi's name was Luggie (as in booger) I still to this day call him that. (not Mike)

Kennedy as Tinker Bell. She wanted drawn on eye lashes so I did them just for her.

Another night we watched our friends the Douberly's baby Kelsey. Trevan and Kennedy would not give her up for anything. Trevan was so excited to hold her that he "forgot" to wash the shampoo out of his hair while showering that night. He had to hurry so fast so he could get his hands on her. They were so cute with her and can't wait to have her in our home again.
