First Day of School

The boys started back to school on August 25, 2010. They both were so excited, they were up and ready before 6 am! I know, way early, but I knew it wouldn't happen again until the last day of school!

Rylan's Blessing Day

Rylan was blessed on August 15, 2010. We decided to bless him while in Utah, and we did it in my parents back yard. It was so great to have everyone there to participate in this day with us. George's dad, George, his sister Cass, her husband Bill and kids were able to come up from Tucson, and his cousin Rachel and her family from Logan were also able to come. It was nice to have members of the Burns family there to take part in the blessing. My three brothers, a brother in lay, and a niece's fiance were there from the Jacklin family, and we also had friends from the Fojtek family there. My parent's Bishop was there too, he is married to one of my long time childhood friend Julie Langeveld Bird. So fun to have so many loved ones.

Lagoon

Lagoon, not quite the happiest place on earth, but to three kids it comes pretty close! They had been looking forward to this for months. They saved up their allowance to be able to go. We all had a great time.

George, Mason, Trevan, and Kennedy on Rattle Snake Rapids. They were still somewhat dry when they floated past me and Rylan, but when they got off the ride George and Kennedy were drenched! Wish I could have gone with them but Rylan is just too small to ride any kind of ride. Maybe next time.

Of course Rylan slept for most of the day. He did wake up when it cooled off in the evening.

Mason and Trevan on the kid swings. Kennedy was also on this ride just not in this picture. Mason found it quite boring compared to the big swings but he was still a good sport about riding it. He of course was way to tall for most of the kid rides which he was totally ok with, he enjoyed the bigger rides, well most of them anyways.

The boys coming down the raft ride. Trevan was more daring than Mason, if only he were a couple inches taller he could have rode everything! Next time we go he will be riding everything. Trevan did ride some roller coasters that Mason would not, so George or I rode with him. I think he wanted to ride just to say he did it because most of the time he would close his eyes and just ask us to tell him when it was over. It was a fun day and we made some great memories.

Willard Bay

Our summer vacation was spent in Utah (where else?). We had a family reunion two of those days. On day one we went to Willard Bay. I had not been there in years, mainly because back in the day it was labeled "Piss Bay" because of all the bugs so most people avoid it. But they have made some great upgrades to their beach areas, and both of my brothers who have boats wanted to go where there would be plenty of room to play. We had so much fun, whether on the boat or the beach just hanging and chatting.

Keith had a two man tube that was next to impossible to fall out of. George and I, then Hollie and I rode that one. Unfortunately later during the day Keith's boat started beeping at them so they shut it down and we were down to just Mike's boat. I think everyone still got to go out and have a good time though.

State Fair

The first week of August Montana holds their State Fair here in Great Falls. This year we were in town for it so we took a few hours one Friday afternoon to go. It is so good to have connections because we got in free just by knowing a guy George works with. We only had like 2 1/2 hours to spend there which was just enough to spend a bunch of money on rides for the kids. Luckily we also were having great summer weather, which did not happen all that often this year, so it seemed. The kids all had a good time and it made them more excited to go to Lagoon in Utah the following week. Even Rylan enjoyed it, of course he slept through the whole thing but what do you expect from a 7 week old baby!?

2 months

I can't believe Rylan is already 2 months old. He had his well-baby check up yesterday and we addressed some problems he is having. He definitely has Reflux, just like Trevan did, only this time around we have been given some medication to help him out. So his stats are:

Weight: 10lbs 12 ounces (25%)

Height: 23.8 inches (80%)

Head: 15cm (50%)

His weight to height percentage is only at 3%, that is why the need for medication, also the Dr. said that they have been doing studies on how Reflux affects bone density later on in life (or something like that). He also got his first set of shots, not so fun!

Next appointment for the day was with the ENT Dr. I knew the first time I laid eyes on Rylan that he was tongue tied just not how badly. Well the Dr. said he has a very bad case of it, his tongue is not only attached at the tip but quite a ways back also. He is scheduled for surgery on the 7th of September.

Finally!!!

It's time to "finally" introduce our new baby boy Rylan. He was born June 18. I really can't believe he is already 6 weeks old. Time sure flies when you are very busy. Here are a few pictures of Rylan takes at 5 weeks old.

Poor baby didn't get near as much hair as his brothers had at birth, he and his sister Kennedy got shorted in that department!

Here is where all his hair is. It looks like his hair pattern is like his dads, if his dad were to grow hair instead of shave it off. Nothing up top, all in back and sides!

Just a warning for you all: NEVER CHANGE A BABY'S DIAPER ON YOUR LAP!

I made that mistake and look what it got me! A few days after this disgusting blow out we were at a friends house and George was getting ready to change Rylan's diaper. I asked him if he wanted the changing pad, he said no I will just change him on my lap. I reminded him of what had happened to me and he laughed it off. Well to his surprise Rylan got him too! (too bad George didn't have a change of clothes handy)
