Are you smarter than...???

Remember the good ole days of school? I am specifically talking about 9th grade Geometry, and 11th grade Trigonometry. I remember back then thinking "When am I ever going to need this information later in life?" Well the time has come! Mason brought home his 3rd grade math and I can't remember squat. I am so not smarter than a 3rd grader, let alone a 5th grader! Today's math paper is all about triangles. You know, the equilateral, isosceles, and scalene type, then figuring which is a right angle, obtuse angle, and acute angles. I was actually thinking of looking this info up on line, but then I figured I could let George handle this one!!!! It is amazing what info you DO NOT RETAIN from school. I guess I should say that I do not, maybe some of you others do remember these facts. And, I do not remember learning this stuff in the 3rd grade. I remember 3rd grade being about times tables and simple division, maybe a touch of fractions but that is it. Too many years have gone by and my brain just doesn't care to know this stuff anymore. GOOD LUCK MASON!

Oh I know how you feel. Katrina comes home with stuff that I don't even know what it is or how to do it. It's the same with Carter. I have probably learned more by helping them and figuring out their homework then I did when I was in school. It's probably because this time I have to pay attention and I have to be smart for my kids. I was helping Katrina with fractions the other day. I was never good with fractions in school. Anyway she made an 80 and missed most of the ones I helped her with. It was only homework and she gets to correct them, but I had to have Brian show her how to do them. I am definitly not smarter than a 4th grader. I will never let the kids know that though.
